Campagne de surveillance DCE 2015 en Méditerranée française. Districts « RHONE ET COTIERS MEDITERRANEENS » ET « CORSE » ArchiMer
Witkowski, Fanny; Andral, Bruno; Derolez, Valerie; Tomasino, Corinne.

Pelletier, Dominique; Giraud-carrier, Charlotte; Bockel, Thomas; Roman, William; Witkowski, Fanny; Powell, Abigail; Soulard, Benoit; Gonson, Charles.
• Conducted within the AMBIO project, this work deals with coral reef fish communities and associated habitats, in the New Caledonian lagoons. It relies on remote unbaited underwater video observations, using the STAVIRO rotating technique. • The study takes place in the Pouebo area, part of the New Caledonian World Heritage site, and encompassing three no-take marine reserves enclosed within a Locally Managed Area (LMA). • The sampling design covers the entire area, and was stratified according to reef geomorphology and protection status. 86 stations were validated within 4 days. They were analyzed to characterize the habitat surrounding each station, and fish communities, based on a species list that includes fished species, emblematic species and...

Temporal partitioning of diurnal behavioural patterns of Coris julis and Diplodus vulgaris (Actinopterygii: Perciformes) in Mediterranean coralligenous habitats. ArchiMer
Witkowski, Fanny; Vion, Aurelie; Bouchoucha, Marc.
Background. There is need for more information on behavioural rhythms of fishes in relation to their habitat use in few or not previously monitored areas, such as coralligenous habitats. Some studies have compiled inventories of observable fish species in this habitat, but no studies have been performed on the temporal patterning of fish behaviour, especially at the scale of the day. The presently reported study aims at providing knowledge on finescale fluctuations of abundances and behaviour of two fish species in coralligenous habitats throughout the diurnal period. Materials and methods. Fish fauna was filmed hourly, for several days, from dusk to dawn, with autonomous, programmable, and rotating video systems.

Witkowski, Fanny.
Coral reefs are among the most diversified ecosystems; structured by comlexe processese. Yet, spatial organization of the diversity of reef fish communities is not well known. The present study, covering the Marine Protected Area of Pouebo (North-East of New Caledonia), takes part of the AMBIO project from IFREMER, which studies spatio-temporal variations of biodiversity by means of High-definition rotatif underwater video systems. In total 1717 individuals from 25 taxonomic families, 56 genus and 145 species were observed. The derived habitat typology of stations distinguishes five habitat classes, which seem to be highly significant for fish species richness and fish density. Results show that biodiversity increases close to the intermediate and the...
